Este trabalho propõe uma análise que concerne à esfera representativa do sexo no filme Irréversible (NOÉ, 2002). Embasando-me na teoria semiótica russa, busco caracterizar fronteiras de significação interligadas por essa temática em distintos momentos ao longo do filme. O caráter de irreversibilidade presente no drama faz-se associado ao tempo e às suas características destrutivas. Nesta análise, por meio de signos observados semioticamente, infiro que o caráter de irreversibilidade está associado não exclusivamente ao tempo mas, sobretudo, ao sexo.

Este artigo versa, a partir de uma perspectiva teórica, sobre a questão da escrita na esfera acadêmica. As particularidades dos modos de leitura e escrita nessa esfera constituem um mundo de letramentos caracterizado por uma formalidade que o distingue, propositalmente, de outras situações de uso dessas habilidades. A apropriação e a manutenção do discurso científico, no entanto, requerem do alunado competências usualmente pouco desenvolvidas ao longo de seus anos na educação básica e que realçam as dificuldades enfrentadas, tanto pelo aluno como pelo professor, na transição para o ensino superior. Para a corrente discussão, amparo-me nos estudos de letramento (STREET, 1984, 2003; KLEIMAN, 1995; HAMILTON, 2002) para tratar, especificamente, do letramento acadêmico e do regime de verdade (FOUCAULT, 2004) através do qual se legitima o discurso científico na sociedade.

ABSTRACT: This article discusses, from a theoretical perspective, the question of writing in the academic sphere. The particularities of the ways to read and write in this sphere constitute a world of literacies characterized by a formality that distinguishesit, purposely, from other use situations of these abilities. The appropriation and maintenance of the scientific discourse, however, require students’ competences commonly not well developed during the years in basic education and which highlight the difficulties faced by both the student and the teacher in the transition to higher education. For the current discussion, I rely on literacy studies (STREET, 1984, 2003; KLEIMAN, 1995; HAMILTON, 2002) to deal, specifically, with academic literacy and the truth regime (FOUCAULT, 2004) through which the scientific discourse is legitimated in society.

Resumo: Neste artigo, a proposta que considero é a de apresentar, introdutoriamente, alguns elementos que partem de duas perspectivas teóricas da semiótica: a linha francesa, na qual se destaca Greimas como precursor e o principal nome dos estudos da área, e a linha russa, cujos postulados de Lotman e de colegas da Escola de Tártu-Moscou alicerçam a teoria. O objetivo do trabalho é propor uma compreensão sobre como cada uma das abordagens lida com textos. Com isso, acredito que aqueles que se iniciam nos estudos semióticos possam definir o percurso mais adequado na compreensão e análise de seus objetos de pesquisa, tendo mais condições de se aprofundarem em uma das abordagens de que trato.

Abstract: In this article, the proposal I take into account is to present, introductorily, a few elements from two of the theoretical perspectives of semiotics: the French line, in which Greimas stands out as precursor and the main name of the studies in the area, and the Russian line, whose postulates of Lotman and colleagues of the School of Tártu-Moscou support the theory. The purpose of the paper is to propose an understanding of how each of the approaches deals with texts. With this, I believe that those who start in semiotic studies may define the most appropriate course in understanding and analyzing their research objects and are better able to delve into one of the approaches I discuss here.

In this article I try to weave some characteristics related to Cultural History, whose proposals for a new historiography established from the nineteenth century, especially with Roger Chartier and Miguel de Certeau in the French current, who well dialogue with studies developed by Bourdieu. Besides, I introduce the phenomenon of representation and the reflections of the culture concept to its theoretical-methodological contribution, turning to a dialogue proposed between CH and the Literacy Studies (STREET, 1984; OLIVEIRA, 2008), from which many problems emerge, especially concerning to identity issues to better understand what the so-called new reader is.
